Step 1 of 6
Duration Passed to Registration:
Verify that at least 60 days have elapsed since you registered your domain.
In accordance with ICANN rules, you cannot transfer your domain to another provider until 60 days after your domain registration date.
Step 2 of 6
Unlock your domain:
For your security, locked domains cannot be transferred. If the Lock Status of your domain above is “Locked,” you must unlock the domain in order to transfer it. To unlock your domain, click the Locked link above. Important: If you’re not planning to transfer your domain, we recommend keeping your domain locked at all times.
Step 3 of 6
Confirm your domain administrative contact email address:
Your new provider will send an email to your domain administrative contact to confirm your domain transfer. If you can’t receive the confirmation, you won’t be able to complete the transfer. Note that this email address might not be the same address at which you receive other Yahoo correspondence.
Step 4 of 6
Get your authorization code:
If you decide to transfer your domain away from Yahoo, your new provider will ask for your authorization code, a unique 6- to 32-character code designed to prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transfers of your domain. To begin the process of getting your unique code, click the link below. Be sure to print or write down your code—you’ll need it to transfer your domain to your new provider. Like a password, your authorization code should never be shared with others.
when you click on “Retrieve My Authorization Code”, a window will prompt on this window, which contain authorization code, as shown in following image:
Step 5 of 6
Contact your new provider:
Now you’re ready to contact your new provider to begin the transfer process. Be sure to keep your authorization code handy, as your new provider will need it to verify the move.
Note: Some web hosting providers cannot manage domain registrations. If you’d like to use your domain with this kind of provider, do not cancel your plan — you’ll need a Yahoo Domains plan to continue to manage your domain in this case.
Step 6 of 6
Cancel your plan:
When your transfer is complete, we’ll send you an email confirming the transfer (you can also check this status with your new provider — the transfer should take about nine days). When you receive this confirmation, you’re ready to cancel your plan. Please note that you must actively cancel to stop paying for your service. Yahoo does not automatically cancel your service when you transfer your domain.
Your authorization code is Jxxxxxxxxxx9. Please save it as proof of domain ownership.
