Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed the new central contracts for period of July 2015 to June 2016. 10% increase in monthly salary plus match fee, Team and Individual performances bonuses has been added in all four categories.
July 2015-June 2016 Central Contract: PCB has announced the new central contracts for the period of July 2015 to June 2016. 10% increase in monthly retainership (salary) and the win bonus for winning test series against any full member nation. 27 players are including in the central contract four categories with Shoaib Malik, Azhar Ali, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan the only names in category A.
Apart from awarding central contracts which will get players monthly retainer fee according to the category they are in, PCB also announced some incentives and bonuses on the basis of individual and team performances. Details are provided below.
PCB Central Contract 2016 Revealed:
Category A: This is the most lucrative category and only the player with experience and consistent performances in the last couple of years been awarded category A alongside Pakistan test captain Misbah Ul Haq. Following is the compensation plan for “Category A” players.
Monthly Retainer Fee – (Rs 500,000 per month)
Test Match Fee – (Rs 400,000 per match)
ODI Match Fee – (Rs 300,000 per match)
Twenty20 Match Fee – (Rs 125,000 per match)
Category B: unlike only four players in category B in 2014-15 central contract, PCB included 9 players in the category B where 345,000 rs will be the monthly salary of category b players plus match fee and win bonuses.
Category C: Some of the inconsistent players makes the list in Category C. Where 198,000 rs will be paid to category C players plus of course the match fee and the win bonuses.
Category D: PCB also introduced a category D last year which include players who might not be the first choice picks in any of the international formats but have played in the recent past or emerging young talent. a handsom 100,000 rs is awarded monthly to category d players.
Individual and Team Bonuses:
Individual Bonus include scoring a hundred, double hundred or taking 5 wickets in an innings or 10 wickets in a test match.
Hundred in Test & Odi Match: Rs. 300,000
Scoring a double hundred in Test or ODI: Rs. 500,000
Taking 5 wickets in innings Test or ODI: Rs 300,000
Taking a 10 wicket haul in Test: Rs. 500,000
While there are also bonus for the whole squad if team win series against top 3 ranked test team or against India etc.
250% bonus in match fee if Pakistan beat a top three ranked team or India in Test Series or ODI Series.
400% bonus in match fee if Pakistan wins 50 over or T20 World Cup.
Players Without The Central Contract ?
What if a new player is selected in one of the international format squads who don’t have a central contract yet ? Well he will be automatically drafted into Category D and will be paid monthly salary of around Rs 95,500 and match bonuses. Depending on his performance in next 6-9 months he will be awarded official contract in one of the four categories.
Central Contract Selection Committee ?
There is a selection committee who decides which player will be drafted into which categories. Committee comprises of national chief selector Haroon Rasheed, national team coach Waqar Younis and Zakir Khan.
